Hi All,
I'm very new to Psytoolkit. From what I can see, it is possible to create picture sentence matching tasks using Psytoolkit but there is no preexisting code for setting up this experiment.
The task would involve participants hearing a small audio clip and then selecting the picture (out of 4) which matches the sentence they heard. Has anyone heard of such tasks being created in Psytoolkit and is there existing code for them anywhere?
Also, is it possible yet to record participants' oral responses to stimuli using Psytoolkit?
Thanks,
Ellie

Hi Ellena, For choosing a picture on a screen following an auditory cue, you could achieve this by using the 'sound' command (see www.psytoolkit.org/lessons/play-a-sound.html) then, depending on whether you want to use a mouse or a keyboard for responses, either using the 'choose' function for a mouse (see www.psytoolkit.org/lessons/choose.html) or just defining keys on the keyboard for responses. I suppose the operationalisation of this to some degree would differ depending on whether you're using a visual world paradigm or a linguistic-visual paradigm. To my knowledge auditory responses from participants are not yet supported, but others might know more

Thank you very much for your answer! I'll contact the owner to ask about the auditory responses as it's a key feature of the experiment.
