Hi all,
I would like to create a Serial Reaction Time Task (SRTT).
The participant previously learned a sequence of keys of 8 items like this example:
“R-W-E-Q-E-W-R-Q”
And I would like to create a little task that record all the pressed keys during 30 seconds (even the keys that are not included in the sequence, if the participant misses and press another letter "H" or "K" or others letters, I would like to know that the participant pressed that key as this represents an error).
The participant’s main objective is to complete as many sequences as possible within the 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the task stop and the participant can’t press the keys anymore. At the end, this application will return me a table with the pressed Keys associated with the time elapsed between the last key pressed and the current key.
Maybe like that:
R 274
W 172
E 314
Q 446
E 409
W 330
R 329
Q 239
W 241
E 436
Q 390
E 482
W 207
E 307
R 312
Q 334
I think, I am using the wrong function and I don’t know how to make this application.
I tried with “readkeys” but the problem with the readkeys function is that we have to press enter at the end and we have to predefine a word (in this situation it is my sequence) but I don’t have the reaction time for each key pressed, I only have the reaction time for the whole sequence...
If someone have an idea on how to write it, I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Sincerely,
William

Hi William, I am trying to design a similar task but instead of numbers I'm using digits, I was wondering if you managed to successfully code this.
