Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere. Is it possible to set a readkey with an indefinite time limit?
or is the workaround to simply set an incredibly high time limit?

Hi, Yes, that is what I do.
In the task, you can set it to a really high number, say:
task waitlong keys x show text "take your time" readkey 1 99999999
That is hours.
Of course, in blocks, when you show an instruction, there is no time limit
block my_block message "This is a new block, do you best, press the space bar now"
tasklist waitlong 10 end
