Hi there, I was wondering if it's possible to pull data from a query parameters at the end of the survey link? I think one of the other threads (echoing link variables) was related to this, but just in case I had misunderstood that thread, I thought I'd ask this question. Basically, participants will be redirected to PsychToolkit and their IDs will be copied into the query parameter at the end of the url - e.g. www.psytoolkit.org/c/3.2.0/survey?s=kbPwp&a_number=112Is it possible to take the number (112) and paste it into a cell in PsychToolkit? I had tried the suggestion outlined the echoing link variables thread but it didn't seem to work. Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!

We need to be able to do this as well, David if you've figured it out, or anyone else knows...
:update, my department's programmers say it isn't possible in psytoolkit. They have to use a workaround where we use qualtrics...

It is possible using the in/out. Check the documentation about the in/out vars, look at the survey edit screen (search for "If you want to get information from calling link" in the page)
But you should be able to run your whole survey in PsyToolkit, why use Qualtrics? I am really interested in finding out.

Thank you so much for pointing us too the solution! As for why qualtrics: Our institution needs to track who did and didn't participate in the study using an identifier assigned by the research participation management software and passed in the link. For the admin purpose of assigning credit for participating, we have to have that list of identifiers to provide back to administrators of the subject pool. The tech people associated with administering the pool have experience with qualtrics, so the solution of passing the original link out of the subject management software to qualtrics to collect that identifier, then having qualtrics pass on the link to psytoolkit, seemed the expedient thing to them. I'm relieved that the sensible solution already existed, but we'd just overlooked it Thanks again.

It says "PsyToolkit will also save these variables in its own spreadsheet," but I have not been able to find where the variable (namely, the SURVEY_CODE) is being saved. I am using IN/OUT as directed, though I am also going through Qualtrics. Am I missing something?
Edit: I was indeed missing something. I had pasted whole links in IN and OUT rather than the variable names themselves. For reference, all I needed to put there was: group id

Okay, let me know how you get on. I'm afraid we're still stuck.
We tried adding:
options var in did var out did
to the start of the survey code, but it won't compile because of syntax errors in what we've done.
stumped.

Ah! OK, one of my students got it figured out. We were making things way too complicated. The solution was that under 'general -> settings' checking "Show advanced options (for experienced users)" makes the "if you want to get info from calling link” option available in the 'edit survey' mode.
