Hey, guys!
I am doing a LDT experiment. My aim is to have a minimum of 40 participants complete the experiment.
I want to control for handedness in the LDT, and therefore want to create two different experiments with the response keys swapped. How/Is it possible to assign every even-numbered participant to 'experiment 1' and every odd-numbered participant to 'experiment 2'?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi, just a thought - would it not be easier to swap button responses halfway through to control for handedness and randomise the order of which button response combination starts first? For example, you need overall 40 trials (made-up number) and therefore have 40 trials in one combination and 40 trials in the other. If you have contact to participants beforehand you could assign numbers to each of them and let them type in that number. Depending on which number it is, even or odd maybe, they either take part in experiment 1 or 2, which you can do via the "jump to question" option in the survey script. An example is here: www.psytoolkit.org/doc2.0.9/online-survey-syntax.html#randomjump

This is a typical how to counterbalance issue. You cannot find out whether your participant has an odd or even number. But I recommend to assign participants to either one of two questions at random. In the end, you will have (approximately) half your participants in either condition.
