Hi PsyToolkit users,
I would like to use this platform for my online experiments, however, I need to record audio responses from participants. I was searching the FAQ and the features of PsyToolkit but it doesn't say anything about audio recording. Is it possible to get access to the participants' mic to record their verbal responses?
Many thanks!

Currently, PsyToolkit does not support this. Besides this, you need to think of whether you really need it for your study. In order for it to work, in principle, participants need to allow the browser to record audio, and most people reject this option. This is not surprising, I think, when people realize their browser can record data. They might worry whether it is automatically switched off, again, and so on. So even if the technology would be available, I would think of whether there is an alternative way of getting the same information. Can I ask what sort of experiment you plan to do, out of interest? (feel free to answer to psytoolkit@gmx.com). This is a good question and I have now add it to the FAQ: www.psytoolkit.org/faq.html#audiorecording

Audio recording would be useful to allow an online alternative uses task.

I am currently doing a PhD in phonology and it would be really useful to use psytoolkit to collect recorded data (I need to record how speakers pronounce nonce words). I used psytoolkit for my masters thesis about perception of closely related languages in Scandinavia, and it was really useful!
