Hi,
I have a set of 400 different questions to ask to the user but I want him/her to only answer 30 of them. Is there any way to randomly select 30 questions among 400 ?
Or is it possible to stop the survey after the user answered 30 questions ?
Best,

Hi Nicolas,
That is currently not possible.
Why do you want this?
I am not aware of many psychological designs where is useful. But if it is a feature that people really want and can give an example of how it improves psychological research, I am happy to implement it for a future version (that will take a few months, though).
Best,
Gijsbert

Hi Gijsbert, I fact, we would like to use Psytoolkit to do a survey with visual questions. And we have 400 questions as I mentioned before. But we don't want to show the whole set of questions because it will be too long for the user. We prefer, that the user stay focus on 30 questions. We will deal with the statistical evaluation of the results later.
Thanks for your answer.
Best,

Dear PsyTookkit experts,
I am also interested in this function. Just want to test a certain number of survey questions from a bigger list of questions. Currently, this can only be done by manually choose a random set of questions and show them to participants.

Can you describe an example of a psychological questionnaire in which this is being used?
Can you explain what *exactly* you want to do?
That might help.

Following this question because I am also interested in this function. In my case, I will administer a cognitive ability test. I have an item pool consisting of 200 items and will only administer 50 items for each participant. Administering 200 is not possible since it will take more than 4 hours to complete the test. The goal is to estimate person ability and item parameters using Rasch analysis. So far, I can only choose manually some random sets of questions and presented those sets to participants. However, it won't be totally random.

Hi
I would also be interested in having that function. @psytoolkit: is that function available currently? Are you planning to develop it? Best J
