Dear all,
I've created a survey with two embedded experiments. For analysis I need to use the individual result files from each participant (thus I cannot make use of the generated data files from Psytoolkit, like "_means" etc). However, in these result files there's no column that contains the participant number which makes merging them into one big txtfile really messy. Inserting this column manually afterwards for every single participant is very tedious and not ecological since I'd have to do that for 750 participants. Therefore I'm wondering, if there's any way to insert a column that saves a participant number? So that each row of my data frame contains the participant number in addition to all other information stored there such as ACC or RT for that special trial/item (if you're familiar with E-Prime: those data-frames contain the participant number in each row of the data frame). Going hand in hand with that question: Is it possible to give participants numbers starting at 1 (instead of the automatically generated number & character combinations)?
Thank you so much
All the best Denise

Hi Denise,
There is a way to do this. First, let's make sure we are on the same page:
1) Many participants have done your experiments.
2) For experiment, you get results in a spreadsheet (that you can download)
So far so good, now you want to match the results. That is easy. In the spreadsheets with the results, the spreadsheet ROWS match. Further, for each participant, you see the first column of your spreadsheet has a unique participant identifier. Instead, you could number them from 1 to n.
In any case, it is really easy, because the rows match.
If this does not solve it, by all means contact me with the details of your survey via psytoolkit@gmx.com
