Hi there,
I have 3 different stroop task blocks in one of my experiments and want to ask a question about mental effort after each one using a modified borg scale. It appears that you can embed an experiment into a survey, but not the other way around. Is there any way for me to ask the same question after each experimental block and get the data recorded (scale is 0, .5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10). I suppose I could create a new Borg task with a bitmap displaying the question and choices. Then I could have the participant select the item via a key press, but I'm not sure how to do that accurately with the .5 value. Thanks for any guidance that could be provided.

ofcourse you can.
task a show bitmap @1 #what to rate (can be text, image, etc.) rate option pos 0 200 #define the position where it should be presented rate option labels r1 r2 #defining anchors (you can have a bitmap saying "Totally disagree" [r1] and "Totally agree" [r2] rate 5000 7 #wait time (ms) and number of scale-points clear screen delay 200 save RATE RATE_RT Participants then click with their mouse on the exact point depending on their level of agreement.
Alternatively,in case you don't want participants to use mouse, you could for example make a (new) task
task keys 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 show bitmap @1 0 -200 #stimuli to be evaluated show bitmap scale 0 200 #you should have a bitmap containing scale options (maybe 1-7 or Totally disagree - Totally agree) readkey @2 #but it doesn't matter what is in the column 2 because there are no right and wrong answers clear screen delay 200 save KEY RT #and you have an information which key was pressed and how quickly was it pressed

Hi Matia, Thanks so much for your help. I am having a hard time visualizing this...Does psytoolkit generate a visual of the likert scale with all the points provided after the bitmap is shoown? When I use a variation on the (first) script above the screen stays empty and black after the bitmap is displayed and there is nothing to click on in terms of a scale/rating. Is there any visual that provides both the script documentation and how it maps onto what is actually viewed on the screen during a block?

There is no need for visualizing anything. Try it yourself. There is a "Super simple example" of the rate function in the link I've sent You. rate option items image_name #this line of code can be used to have your own scale points (instead of the yellow circle which is the default) rate option pos 0 100 #This line of code lets you position rate scale wherever you want on the screen rate option labels left right #This line of code lets you define ends of the scale (left and right are bitmap names containing text) Make a bitmap (somethin small maybe 100x50 in which you will write "Totally disagree" and another "right" bitmap stating "Totally agree") for the anchors, make the bitmap (something really small maybe 10x10 circles in green color) and upload them to the experiment. Next, you should use the above script and try it for yourself.
