I recently started using your website to make a survey and gather data. I am unclear what happened to the data file I had, but it does not show up anymore. I used the site today and it said there was "N=21", but now it does not show it and I do not know how to go about collecting the data. Is there any way to help? I would deeply appreciate any help you can provide.

Hello,
You should describe Your problem in more detail. From the information you provide I can guess that the problem may be in the fact that you downloaded the data and then deleted it from the particular survey.
Whenever You create a survey (let's say Survey 1), the data being collected can be downloaded by scrolling at the end of the survey-setting page. There, you have option to download and delete the datafile. Psytoolkit does not allow for the datafile to be deleted before you download it safely to your computer (although this can sometimes be a pain but you understand that this is erring on the side of caution).
There are two possibilities what could have happened to your data. You either downloaded it and deleted them, or you have maybe copied your survey (Survey 1) into a new survey (copy of Survey 1) which is basically a new survey that does not contain collected datafiles.
Hope this helps, but should you provide more details, maybe I can help you more. Best, Matia

So after I finished writing the program, I had it on design mode and tested it 24 times. I deleted those data files because I started real data collection a day after and did not want the test data files with the actual data files I was about to collect. I logged in and it showed beside the section "Online/Offline survey status N=21". I went scrolled down to download the data file for this and there was nothing. I refreshed the page and it did not show N=21 anymore. It seemed the data files just randomly erased themselves.

I may be out on the limb here, but I think I know what happened. It happened to me also. First of all, it was probably the case N=21 refers to your testing data. Maybe you have tested it 3 times, and then deleted them, and then afterwards went on and tested it 21 more times.
After deleting these 21 files, Psytoolkit saved them (as OLD data) just in case you accidentally deleted them. They will be in Psytoolkit's memory until' you gather new data. So the most plausible answer is that no-one has still participated in your study. Check and let us know whether this solves your problem. You can test it by yourself. Create a new survey try it couple of times (let's say 5 times), then prepare the datafiles, download them and click on delete datafiles. Then refresh your page, I think you should see that N=5 is still written wherever you saw N=21.
The only relevant place where you can 100% know how many participants (datafiles) you have is at the end of the survey page where it says There are currently datafiles from 93 different participants (potentially includes uncompleted surveys).
Best, Matia
