Hello!
Parts of my survey require the participants to select a restricted number of responses from a set of given options. For example:
l: NFS_Relation t: check o: require 1 1 q: Please select the relation of your chosen confidant. - Friend - Sibling - Parent - Relative - Spouse/Romantic Partner
However, when I run this, there is no limit presented. Even when I change "o: require 1 2", no restriction to options is presented. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!

Hi amna,
I have tried your code and it works just fine. By fine I mean that participant can move forward only if s/he has selected at least one or max two options (i did require 1 2, but the same is true when 1 1 - only one option must be chosen). Although s/he is free to click them all, the "Click this button for the next question" will remain grey (cannot be clicked) until there are as many options as there can be.
Best, Matia

Hi Matia!
Thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, I need to restrict the participant in selecting my chosen number of response. It would ruin the scoring of the questionnaires if more options are selected. I had hoped that 1 1 or 5 5 would limit the participant in such a way that they can only select 1 or 5 from a set of many options. The 1 1 can be fixed with changing it to a radio item but unfortunately, the others aren't restricting in the way I want them to.
But thank you again!
Regards, Amna

Dear Amna,
I do not understand what it is you try to accomplish. For example, as you suggest, in your example, I would assume the five options you give are exclusive (so as you suggest, a radio question would make most sense).
Can you give us an example of what you need exactly?

Hello!
I am not sure why the script was not working as when I had run the survey as part of a pilot study, it was working just fine.
In one of the questions, I have 12 options out of which the participant must select only 5. Not less, not more. so I added o: require 5 5 but when I ran this, there was no restriction to how many one could select and could easily move on to the next question, which shouldn't have been allowed. However, it is working fine now. Sorry, but I don't know what must have gone wrong, even though I made no changes for it to work.
