Hello!
I have a survey which includes a question like so
l: [question label]
t: textline
q: [question text]
- {length=24}
However, when I test this survey it allows me to enter responses of any length for this question. Am I not using {length=X} appropriately?
Thanks!

Yes, the length does not restrict the number of letters or words. It is just the size of the box around the text.
There is (currently) no way to restrict the number of characters or words people can enter.
Why do you need this?

I see; I misunderstood the purpose of {length=X}!
I was trying to enforce a specific character length for responses to this question because it asks participants to enter a unique ID string which we already know will be 24 characters long. It may be more effective to simply threaten our participants with withheld compensation should they fail to submit a valid ID string though.
Thanks for the help!

I see. In the upcoming (February) version I might implement it.

Indeed, try it out in the new version, it works fine (starting from version 3.3.2).
l: test t: textline q: Enter text - {minchar=5,maxchar=10,size=30} Enter text between 5 and 10 characters - {minchar=10,maxchar=10,size=30} Enter text of exactly 10 characters - {minchar=10,size=50} Enter text of at least 10 characters - {maxchar=10} Enter text of maximally 10 characters - Enter text of any size
