Hello,
I hope this is the correct place to ask this. I have a survey with an embedded experiment. There is no substantial survey component, just the experiment. As I've coded the experiment, each iteration for each participant produces three data. (One is STATUS, none are RT.) Ideally, for data analysis, I would have one spreadsheet with a row for each participant, and columns with the following information, "Iteration 1; Datum 1," "Iteration 1; Datum 2," "Iteration 1; Datum 3," "Iteration 2; Datum 1" &c.
When I've tested my experiment, and gone into Analyze Data, and the "Data" section, things look good. All data appear, albeit not in one row, but in a table. But when I've tested my survey with embedded experiment, and downloaded the data, I get an individual .txt file for each mock participant, but the spreadsheet is worthless and contains no experiment data.
As I understand it from watching videos and reading the forum, I should do something with the "Set the meaning of the columns in data file" section that I haven't done to get the result I want. But I don't need an RT column, and only one datum is STATUS and no data (as I understand it) are grouping variables. So the relevance of this section is obscure to me. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
