Dear All, I was wondering if there is any way to record the order in which the participants saw questions, so that I can check whether the ordering affects the answers in any way. Also, because I included random ordering in the code, the progress bar at the top goes completely crazy (showing seemingly random numbers ), is there some way to delete it entirely? My code goes something like that (there are three experimental groups and I want each group to see questions in a random order): Thank you! l: chooserandom t: set - random from 1 2 3 l: t: jump - if $chooserandom == 1 then goto ONE - if $chooserandom == 2 then goto TWO - if $chooserandom == 3 then goto THREE ## O N E ## l: ONE t: info q: Hello<br> Here is some general information about the study without questions to answer. random: begin page: begin l: ONE1 t: radio q: This is the first question from one set of questions. Putting aside purely political considerations, would you agree with this policy? - Strongly disagree - Somewhat disagree - Somewhat agree - Strongly agree l: IRSA2 t: radio o: link q: Do you think most people would agree with this policy? - Most people would strongly disagree - Most people would somewhat disagree - Most people would somewhat agree - Most people would strongly agree page: end page: begin l:oneB t: info q: Here, there would be another set of questions page: end random: end l: t: jump - goto endquestion ## T W O ## and so on...

In surveys, you can switch off the survey percentage and so on if that causes a problem.
The only way to find the exact order of each subject, you would need to look at the "raw" survey data files in your zip file that you get when you download the survey data. Have a look at those, they are are in text format and they are in order of presentation.

Thank you so much, that's very helpful!
I guess I am going to have to spend some time looking into the .txt files.

Instead of working with the raw text files, you also can use the output of the random variable from your variable chooserandom (which is in your data spreadsheet), which tells you much about the order.
