Dear all,
I am very new to PsyToolkit and haven't found any threads addressing touchscreen behaviour, but will be gladly redirected if this matter has been discussed already. I am a speech and language therapist and for a project on prevention of language disorders, I want to create very simple experiments involving word-picture matching on tablets in order to measure the vocabulary and grammar understainding in very young children (2-4 years). From what I have seen, this should be possible with PsyToolkit.
With the other experimental software solutions we tried, we are finding it difficult to use touchscreen facilities since most modern devices have sophisticated multitouch functions (pinching, scrolling etc) that young children often activate by mistake. In both windows surface and ipads, this function cannot be deactivated centrally (because the operating systems totally rely on these functions for basic navigation between apps), but must be controlled by the experimental software one chooses. Now my question: Given that psytoolkit is web-based, is it possible to control this kind of function on the tablet, or do we need to find a different software/ or different hardware?
Thank you very much in advance for your help,
Katrin

Basically, what is "click" with the mouse can be done with a "touch" in touch screens. There are a few experiment demos here:
More complex touch functions such as pinching and so on are not supported.
