Heyo I want to manipulate the feedback for my study. So I thought I would use the randomize command with three different info as feedback. In the produced data is there some way to see which of the three feedbacks was displayed? Without that it would be pretty pointless Thanks for the help. Valentin

Oh and a second question that just appeared to me: in other applications you can use a slider bar as sacle instead of a lickert scale. Is something like that available in psytoolkit as well?

Hi Valentin,
reading your first question I think you want only one out of three feedback options to be shown. Is this correct? If you are talking about the chooserandom function in the survey (https://www.psytoolkit.org/doc2.0.9/online-survey-syntax.html#randomjump) then you could define the three different options and then randomly assign participants to be shown one of the three options of feedback similar to the example shown in the online survey syntax
l: chooserandom t: set - random 1 3
l: t: jump - if $chooserandom == 1 then goto feedback1 - if $chooserandom == 2 then goto feedback2 - if $chooserandom == 2 then goto feedback3
I have never done this, but I assume this is how it would work. If you are talking about the randomization function, this only changes the order of the questions (https://www.psytoolkit.org/doc2.0.9/online-survey-syntax.html#randomization), but all options will be shown. You will have to try it out when designing your survey. After you compiled your first version and try it out yourself data will be saved, which you can download and have a look at it. This should give you the answer to your first question.
To your second question - you could use the range function (https://www.psytoolkit.org/doc2.0.9/online-survey-syntax.html#range). You can define it in the same way as a Lickert scale and let the slider appear in the center, for example.

Hello everyone,
is it possible that the random - jump mechanism isn't working any more? I have written the following code which worked fine previously: It drew a random number, and based on that number it jumped to either "Experiment 1" or "Experiment 2". But now I seem to be getting only "Experiment 1" (I've started the survey about 30 times in a row). Maybe someone can tell be what I am missing?
l: chooserandom t: set - random 1 2
j: if $chooserandom == 2 then goto welcome2
l: welcome1 t: info q: Welcome to Experiment 1!
l: t: jump - goto experiment1
l: welcome2 t: info q: Welcome to Experiment 2

Hello, could it be the question after "welcome1" should be an experiment, not a jump? If it is a very specific technical issue to your setup, feel free to send an email to psytoolkit@gmx.com
I test the jump regularly, I am pretty sure it all works fine

Hello, this was just an excerpt of the entire code. The items "experiment1" (the target of the jump) and "experiment2" followed after the "welcome1" and "welcome2" items. These kinds of jumps worked just fine before, but for some reason, they don't work now. By the way, am I right to assume that "j: if $chooserandom == 2 then goto welcome 2" is just a short version and equal to the longer version below (I am getting the same issue with both versions)?
l: t: jump - if $chooserandom == 2 the goto welcome 2
Best wishes!

P.S. With "now" I mean PsyToolkit version 3.1.0, and with "before" I mean 3.0.1 and older versions.

This has now been resolved (fixed where problems existed).

I'll just keep this alive Is it possible to set a timer to go to the next question? So the button to go further doesn't appear before let's say 30 seconds?

I am not aware that this is possible at the moment. May I ask why you would want people to have to wait for 30 s until they can proceed? Will participants have to view a stimulus for this long before they can proceed?

Okay, here I go again: My students want to analyze the proportion correct in their experiments. The only way I found was opening every result.txt in an Excel, calculating it by hand and bringing that all together. Is there a more convenient way to do this? Some kind of script or smth?
