I'm in the middle of conducting research for my MA thesis "The influence of one-time physical activity on cognitive functions". I was wondering whether you could share your opinion on the research and methods of analysis.
As far as I know, there are variants of Stroop task and so there are variants of approach in analysis. Based on the Stroop task from PsyToolkit, I gather 3 piece of data:
- average speed answering congruent words [ms]
- average speed answering incongruent words [ms]
- Stroop effect value (incongruent minus congruent) [ms]
So all is about reaction time and of course the shorter, the better. Each of my volunteers has 2 stages for the trials and my idea is just to compare if they got better results the second time (it takes place after a physical training) and of course compare it with control group taking the task too.
In your opinion, do I just do so or do you have different approach?
One more thing, I'm not sure however, how to use the Stroop effect value. What do you think?
